After many a drunken jam session facilitated by Basement Beer in Stokes Croft, Bristol, best buds Luke and Archie formed Walking Billboards, a DIY indie band rough around the edges and with a dash of silliness to match. For fans of jangly pop guitars, rough and tumble vocals and plenty of catchy sing along moments.
Every now and again, Luke likes to don some spacey garms, chuck on a space helmet and rap/sing about life using space terminology and tipsy beats. Everything from chill and sexy jazz hop about taking aliens on a date, to hyperpop DnB about taking ur girifriend to the aquarium. Shoot for the stars and you'll find Cosmic.
Sending punk vibes around the M4 corridor are fellow PhD friends Luke Child and Corey Ford. DIY punk vibes to shout to, Scrub are the result of getting pissed off at things and deciding distortion therapy is the best answer.
our space ship up against yours (OSSUAY) is an upcoming project from Luke that attempts to aggregate his musical personas into one badass project. Focussing on midwests math rock, late 90s/00s emo with a sprinkling of prog/spacey elements, you can expect some tunes late 2025 if all goes well!
Probably the most off kilter and experimental offering of Luke's music is his collaboration with maker, hacker and all around nice guy Phill Phelps, also known as Zenpho. Their first EP is a delve into lo-bit music at super low bit depths and sample rates. Their eponymous EP is available on floppy disk, consisting of 7 tracks under 1MB in their entirety!
If Cosmic alone wasn't enough for you, then let DILF Syndrome into the mix and call it Space Dad! Featuring the ethereal vocals of Cosmic and the dusty lo-fi production of DILF, we take you on a journey through relaxing, intergalactic, transatlantic space-faring adventure.
